Depth of Field (DoF) is the part or area that is in focus so that it looks sharp in a photo. All elements within this DoF area will appear sharp (focus) while those outside this area will appear out of focus. Sometimes, viewers does not know what to see during watching in some certain scenes of the 3D animated film. With the help of Depth of Field, viewers will be helped to see what object or character to look at during the film. Therefore, the messages contained in the film can be delivered well. People these days only know popular stories, for example, when we go to West Sumatera, the only folklore that comes to our mind must be Malin Kundang, or if we come to Central Java, the first folklore that’ll be come to our mind would be Timun Mas or Dayang Sumbi that come from West Java. Therefore, one of Jambi’s folklore was picked to be the main story of this final project, namely Kelingking Sakti. Based on the questionnaires that have been distributed by online about the knowledge of the Kelingking Sakti to more than 50 people in Jambi, the results shows that only 13.6% of respondents who knows about the story of Kelingking Sakti, while another 27.1% of respondents who only ever heard the title without knowing the true story of Kelingking Sakti and the other 59.3% of respondents doesn’t know anything about the story of Kelingking Sakti at all. Based on the issues above, Kelingking Sakti 3D animated film with Depth of Field effect was made to introduce the story of Kelingking Sakti to society, especially, people from Jambi.
