Rancang Bangun Self Sustainable Wireless Sensor Network



Indonesia, a country that is rich on natural resources, become perfect target for illegal activities from inside and outside which affect the narture badly. Efficient real time monitoring system is the ideal solution for this problem. WSN as distributed sensor network fits this category. But, a vast application area causes the cost of changing batteries too high and makes the application of WSN obstructed. To solve the problem, WSN with ability to charge super capacitor using light energy is made. WSN is made as simple as possible and used integrated component and low cost. Based on the testing done, the transmitter sensor node needs 1,89 mA and 3,54 mA for sleep and active mode respectively. As for receiver sensor node, it requires 2,13 mA and 17,76 mA for sleep and active mode respectively. In the outdoor environment, the sensor node is capable of fully charging 50 F super capacitor in 30 minutes on sunny day and these power can sustain the node for 12 hours on the night with almost none light energy.
